The Story

Founded by Aaron Ward (ex AskNicely), Diogo Böhm (ex Eroad), and Marcus Hoefliger (ex Auror), the problem is most people get zero useful feedback at work. We all agree that it's critical to high performance, but it's an administrative burden, only 36% of companies do it regularly, and employees get no value. Huckleberry was born – the voice-based growth feedback platform helping everyone feel appreciated, play to their strengths, and grow simply by talking.

The Numbers

  • Mighty team of 3 co-founders

  • Just raised a pre-seed funding round of NZ$2.1M

  • Team split between Auckland and Portland

  • Teammates can give growth feedback in just 3 minutes, just by talking

Plot Twist

The name Huckleberry originates from the late 1800's where instead of saying "I'm the one for the Job", you would say "I'm your Huckleberry". So no, it's not based on the maternity app, grocer, character, or a delicious fruit. Two proud Māori co-founders in Aaron (Ngāti Maru) and Marcus (Te Arawa), along with Diogo, are making feedback faster, more human and available for everyone at work, not just leaders.

The Good Stuff

No more long surveys, no typing. Huckleberry makes getting growth feedback from peers, managers, or friends easy and fast using your voice, eliminating surveys and typing to help you discover and grow your career.. With their fresh $2.1M pre-seed round, they're on a mission to transform how companies approach growth feedback – making it accessible, human, and actually useful for everyone.

Hit up Huckleberry if you want to make feedback work for  everyone in your team, not just leaders.

From three ex-SaaS founders who saw the feedback gap to $2.1M in funding – these Auckland and Portland legends prove that sometimes the best way to solve a problem is to let people just talk about it.
