Volunteering with us

KiwiSaaS is industry-led and community-powered. If you’ve got time, ideas, or experience to share, we’d love your help to strengthen Aotearoa’s SaaS whānau. Your mahi can make a real difference.

Our priority needs right now are volunteers to:

  1. Organise or present workshops for early 2026

  2. Help us design and build up “Resources by Role” in our Resource Library (e.g., Resources for Sales, for Product, for Operations, etc)

  3. Research your local SaaS community to build up our national directory. Work out who does SaaS, how big they are, and add them to our directory.

  4. Help on all the things: Wranglers, designers, writers, product people, marketers, workshop experts, event organisers, group facilitators, online community moderators, and social media stars.

Ways you can help:

  • Organise or present workshops – Pull together people and topics to run workshops on topics you care about. Or step up to the mic (or webcam) and share your own skills and experiences.

  • Offer advice/mentoring – We’ll be fielding requests for advice and mentoring every week. Set your area and interests and we’ll know what offers to bring you.

  • Lead or support our local communities – The internet is great, but there’s still nothing like connecting in person. Lead or support others to run local KiwiSaas communities and events.

  • Scout the sector – Help us identify, research and connect with SaaS companies to grow our national directory.

  • Update our SaaS in Your Region pages – Update our regional SaaS webpages with the companies, groups, and resources that are useful for your local community.

  • Help coordinate our volunteers – We’re an industry-led community powered by volunteers. There’s a lot of volunteers, and an awful lot of work, so volunteer organisers are very welcome.

What you’ll get:

FAQ about Volunteering for KiwiSaaS

  • The short answer is that we rely on volunteers to run KiwiSaaS and deliver our events and programmes. Whether delivering workshops, organising local meetups, or answering community questions, there’s almost always a volunteer (or three) involved.

    The long answer is that we’re an industry-led, member-powered organisation, operating under the NZTech umbrella. And everything KiwiSaaS does is some combinatino of work by our Board (volunteers), our Executive Director (paid part-time), NZTech Group resources (paid), and volunteers from our SaaS community.

  • We will have a code of conduct covering our broad expectations. But otherwise you let us know your interests and capacity, and we’ll work with that.

  • It will depend on what you offered, what work comes up, and how we end up organising all the different things we want to do.

    There is a lot to design and test – this is a new thing we’re trying to do – so we appreciate your patience while we work it out together.
