Burnout in Tech Leadership: An Honest Conversation

Burnout has always been part of the conversation in tech, but it’s usually the conversation nobody wants to start. With SaaS businesses under increasing pressure to do more with leaner teams, the question isn’t whether burnout is showing up in your organisation, it’s whether you’re catching it early enough to do something about it.

This half-day workshop is a space for SaaS leaders to have the real conversation: what burnout actually looks like at the leadership level, how it’s showing up for us personally and in our teams, and what we can do about it. Our workshop is facilitated by Gabrielle Cutfield (Founder, Emerging Engines) and she’s joined by a panel of SaaS leaders: James Sampson (FileInvite), Kathleen Webber (LiveRem), and Aaron Ward (Huckleberry & AskNicely).

What you’ll learn:

  • Why burnout deserves more attention than it gets and the business case for treating it as a leadership priority (not a personal problem)

  • What burnout actually is: different types, how it manifests and how to spot early warning signs

  • How burnout has shown up for other SaaS leaders and tactics they’ve actually used to manage it (peer discussion)

  • Where responsibility sits: what businesses owe their people vs what individuals need to own (and how to navigate the tension)

  • Practical steps you can take back to your organisation, for yourself and your leadership team.
